Louise qualified as a Registered Intermediary in 2014 and has covered over 500 criminal cases. She is a current member of Intermediaries for Justice and works within the criminal and family courts.
Louise qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2003 from Birmingham City University and gained her MSc in Learning Disability and Multisensory Impairment in 2009 from Manchester University. She has worked in a variety of roles with both children and adults with learning disabilities and mental health difficulties. Louise has a special interest in learning disability, autism, mental health, sensory integration dysfunction and neurodevelopmental communication disorders. She is a current member of HCPC and RCSLT and holds an enhanced DBS certificate.
Louise has completed additional training in Working with Defendants, Working in Family Proceedings, Trauma and Neuroscience, Makaton signing, PECS, Intensive Interaction, Sensory Integration: Learning Disability and Mental Health, The Hanen programme and Derbyshire Language Scheme.
Louise takes referrals for both adults and children with the following diagnoses: speech/language delay/disorder, autism spectrum disorders, learning disability, mental health difficulties, ADHD, sensory integration disorder, and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Sarah qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2003 from Birmingham City University. She has worked in a variety of roles with both Children, Adolescents and Adults. Sarah has special interest in autism, mental health, global developmental delay, Learning Difficulties and language delay in both Children and Adults. Liz qualified as a Registered Intermediary in 2014. She has provided services to over 500 vulnerable people within the Criminal Justice System.
She qualified as a speech and language therapist in 2002. She has extensive experience of working with young people and adults within the NHS and private practice.
Liz provides intermediary services both in the criminal and family courts to young people and adults who have: learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, neurological conditions (such as stroke and brain injury), dysarthria, dyspraxia and dementia as well as people using communication aids.
She has undertaken a wide variety of post-graduate training including working in the family courts, working with people with severe aphasia, profound brain injury and AAC. Tina Pereira was trained by the Ministry of Justice in 2007 as a Registered Intermediary. Since then, she has worked as an intermediary in several Crown, Magistrate and Youth Courts in the Midlands. Previously, Tina worked for many years as a specialist speech and language therapist in the UK, as well as overseas.
Tina’s areas of specialisms are Learning Disability (adults and children) and typically developing children. Tina has many years of experience working with a range of adults and children whose communication difficulties may be caused by genetic factors (such as Down’s Syndrome, Fragile X), neuro-developmental disorders (such as Autism/ASD, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder/ADHD), Traumatic Brain Injury and severe environmental deprivation (such as the impact of modern slavery on communication and behaviour).
Tina has completed post-graduate training in a number of relevant areas and she is currently working on a PhD at Cardiff University. She is a member of Intermediaries for Justice (the professional organisation for intermediaries in England, Wales and Northern Ireland) and Honorary Secretary from December 2014 to November 2017. Tina is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
Tina is on the training group that writes and delivers training to new Registered Intermediaries on behalf of the Ministry of Justice. Tina is an accredited RI and mentors newly qualified RIs.
